Holy Rosary Parish Council
December 17, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. Present: Tim Shininger, Dan Schommer, Bernadette Ruckdashel, Joe Klein, and Jo Ann Wagner. Arriving later: Don Hamm.
Prayer: The opening prayer was led by Tim
Minutes: With a change to the second sentence of the Building and Grounds to read "A setback thermostat has been isntalled to lower the classroom temperature on weekends.", the minutes from the November 19, 2007, Parish Council meeting were approved on a MOTION by dan, seconded by Bernadette, and carried.
Proposed Survey by Tri-Parish Plan Committee: Tim presented a draft of the survey proposed by the Tri-Parish Plan Committee to obtain input from parishioners on the future of the parishes. As the committee plans for the future it is realistic that one priest will serve all three parishes. The committee wants to plan how to meet the needs of the parishioners at that time, including school needs and financial consideration. (Don arrived) The proposed survey will ask for demographics of the respondent and the opinion on how the cluster of parishes should proceed into the future, what the most important services are needed from the parish, and how committed they are to the future of the tri-parish community. Suggestions to the survey include ranking the answers to question one and adding an additional option of remaining three separate parishes but operate one school; no changes to the second questions; and adding other to the third question. It was also suggested that somewhere on the survey it be noted that this is for informational purposes only, the survey being returned is put onto one page, and a line be added for the parish the respondent belongs to. More discussion on the future of the parish, how the mass times affect various parishioners and participations of younger families in the parish.
Next Meeting: The next Holy Rosary Parish Council meeting is January 21, 2008.
Prayer: The closing prayer was led by Tim.
The meeting adjourned at 8:26 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted:
